India Karnataka
Our first Robusta coffee, this origin is grown in the Karnataka state of southwest India. It has a light body and mild acidity with Cocoa Powder, Earthy, & Nutty tasting notes.
When comparing Arabica and Robusta beans, there are several points of difference: Robusta beans will typically taste more earthy and less sweet than Arabica. Robusta also has a higher caffeine content - almost twice the caffeine content of Arabica beans. When used for espresso, Robusta coffee beans will produce a denser, more pronounced crema.
Our recommendation: Enjoy a medium-dark roast as a French press or espresso.*
Processing Method: Washed
Farmers remove the skin and pulp from coffee cherries, usually with the help of depulper machines. The beans are then washed in giant tanks of water before being laid out to dry in the sun. This processing method tends to bring out brighter, cleaner tasting notes in coffee.
*Recommendations of roasts and brewing methods are based on our own taste and experimentation of what best highlights each coffee's unique attributes. As everyone's taste is different, please customize your order to your roast preferences and brew using your favorite method.
